Principal's Message

August 13, 2018

 

The 2018-2019 school year is fast approaching. The staff and I are looking forward to another productive school year. Teachers are putting finishing touches on learning spaces, secretaries are registering new students, custodians are delivering materials, and Mrs. Graner and I are working on finalizing schedules.

 

The school office is now open from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. each weekday. Once school starts, the GFS office will be open until 4:00 P.M. Mrs. Davis is happy to assist with registration and answer questions.

 

Although the K-6 start/end times have changed slightly, Pre-K arrival and dismissal times have remained the same. Please refer to the table to the left of this letter for specific times. STARS students and peers should be dropped off at 8:35 A.M. and picked up at 2:30 P.M. Cars should line up in the right lane by the Kindergarten entrance. Students will be transitioned to and from the cars by staff. PLEASE make sure that you have an appropriate car seat for your child. Staff will not be able to release your child to you or your designee unless there is an appropriate car seat.

Aug. 22 - Class lists posted near school entrances at 10:00 A.M.

Aug. 24 - Back to School Bash sponsored by LEAF, 4:00 P.M. at the Ledyard Fairgrounds

Aug. 28 - Back to School Potluck sponsored by PTO, 5:00-7:00 P.M. on the GFS playground

Aug. 30 - Meet and Greet Events

              Yonush and O'Sullivan (AM) 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.

              Gionet and Curley 10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M.

              O'Sullivan (PM) 12:30 P.M.-1:00 P.M.

Aug. 31 - First day of school for Pre-K students

 

*Families are to enter through the Pre-K entrance for the Meet and Greet.
